"Rude and unreliable"

The Refrigeration Breakdown Service advertises itself as follows: ""Refrigeration Breakdown Services are your local experts in both domestic and commercial refrigeration repairs. Established for over 40 years, you can be sure you will receive a courteous, efficient and reliable service, from first class refrigeration engineers in the Sheffield, Chesterfield and all of the surrounding areas."" My experience of this company was precisely the opposite; I arranged a home visit last week, the engineer did not turn up and did not contact me to tell me he wasn't coming. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and arranged another visit, he arrived over an hour late, but in fairness did contact me to tell me he was running late. On that home visit he was unsure of what was wrong so left the fridge running and said he would come back the following day at 8am. The following day I waited in until 8:45 then telephoned the company to find out where they were, the member of staff who answered the phone went off to talk to the engineer, I could hear their conversation, the engineer said ""Oh no I'm not going there again"", the original telephonist returned to the phone and asked if the fridge was working, I explained the problem and he said he wasn't coming and I should get a new fridge. I stated that I would've appreciated being contacted and told the engineer wasn't coming and the s taff said ""Fair enough"", I didn't even get an apology! It must be nice in this ecomonic climate to be able to turn down work because you can't be bothered and alienate your customer base. In my opinion their service promise should be re-worded to ""A disinterested, unrealible, inefficient, rude service""..
